Created during the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic, Overthinking visualizes the mental weight of navigating constant uncertainty. As the world slowed down, my mind sped up, every decision felt heavier, every thought louder. This illustration turned that experience into a physical metaphor: a figure struggling forward while carrying an oversized, overheated brain, its tangled ropes and exhaust pipe symbolizing spiraling thoughts and mental burnout.
This piece marked an important step in developing my personal illustration style during my “Covid project,” where I focused on experimentation, skill-building, and visual storytelling. It also represents a turning point: since creating it, I’ve learned to quiet my mind, untangle my thoughts, and collaborate with my own brain rather than fight against it.
Overthinking remains both a snapshot of that overwhelming moment in time and a reminder of the balance I’ve worked hard to reclaim.
